The paper introduces the key events of summer 2021 for the Chinese society represented in Chinese Internet discourse. These events include the Tokyo Olympics, launch of Shenshou-12 manned spacecraft, Henan floods and 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party. The research is based on the material of Wechat posts published by Chinese L1 speakers.
