The subject of study in this article is the text of political propaganda posters. The peculiarity of the text of a propaganda poster is its polycode nature. Visual and verbal signs are integrated to implement the appellative function in the text of a political propaganda poster. Images in the polycode text of a political propaganda poster compensate the components of appellative meaning that are missing in the text part, but are essential for the implementation of the appellative function.
