There are hundreds thousands lakes on Sakha Republic’s territory, the main part of they are located in lowlands of Viluy, Yana, Indigirka and Kolyma Rivers (10-12 or until 60 % of territory). Numerous lake ecosystems of Yakutia are weakly investigated and poorly developed because of their high distance locations from settlements. Although these lakes ere especially sensitive and vulnerable by anthropogenic pressure and global warming. Most water reservoirs of permafrost area of Yakutia are lakes with small surface area and low water depth which have thermokarst or fluvial genesis. This fact turns these lakes into very sensitive under climate changes.
