МЕТОД ОЦЕНКИ ДИНАМИКИ БИООМАССЫ В ХОДЕ ВОССТАНОВИТЕЛЬНЫХ СМЕН БОРЕАЛЬНЫХ ЛЕСОВ
The main drawbacks of most-cited previous studies of phytomass dynamics are: 1) the inability to use multiple data relevés of the projective cover of plant species to assess their phytomass;2) a very limited amount of information about the dynamics of biomass of plants living ground cover during the restoration shifts after clearcutting of boreal forests. The study of the dynamics of recovery after clearcutting of boreal forests was based on the information on projective cover of plant species on 18 permanent sample plots laid in the Leningrad region. The most significant change in the recovery process after clear-cuts occurred at 3-6 years. At the end of the observation period on the sample plots (30-40 years after felling) the values of many indicators were similar to that of the forests before cutting. Based on data obtained at 60 sites 1 sq m each laid out of permanent plots regression equations relating projective cover and air-dry biomass of the green parts of the plants for 6 life forms and growth groups were established.
