On March 28, 2015 Dmitry Pavlovich Finarov - the doctor of geographical sciences, honourable professor of Herzen State Pedagogical University died. Dmitry Pavlovich was born on October 18, 1930 in the Ivanovoregion. In 1955 I graduated from geographical faculty of Ivanovskoye of teacher training college, in 1963 -postgraduate study of LGPI of A.I. Herzen. In 1977 I defended the doctoral dissertation at Moscow State University. From 1981 to the last day I worked for faculty of geography of Gertsenovsky university as thehead of the department of a technique of training of geography and to study of local lore, since 1999 -professor of this chair. Its scientific activity covered the most important questions of school geographical education and in recent years concentrated on studying of monuments of the World heritage.Professor D.P. Finarov author of several hundred scientific works, including school and high school textbooks, manuals and monographs. Under its management and consultation tens of master's and doctoral dissertations were protected. Achievements, merits and Dmitry Pavlovich's priorities are huge and noted bymany state and departmental awards, honorary titles. The talent of the scientist and teacher in his face was integrally combined with high human qualities - patriotism, civic consciousness, goodwill and responsibility.Dmitry Pavlovich Finarov forever remains in our memory the outstanding scientist and the teacher who devoted the life to geographical science and preparation of qualified personnel.
