The wide spread of extracurricular activities in education made it possible for teachers of geography to go beyond the usual framework of work in the classroom and visit museums of the city with their students, conducting "live" classes. Schoolchildren are no longer offered ready-made information, they get it on their own, relying on the rich collections of museums, solving tasks of different types, in cooperation with guides, teachers, classmates.
